Basil as lifestyle... more an more our dream is becoming reality! On the first of november 2008 the Cyclechic Fashionshow took place in Cork (Ireland).

For the first time in Ireland, the CYCLE CHIC Fashion Show has presented how cycling can be fashionable and stylish. European and local designers have showed you their latest innovations of trendy bikes, smart clothes and funky accessories. Amongst them was Basil!

Basil, well-known from bicycle baskets, trendy bicycle bags and innovating bicycle accessories, has again introduced an outstanding model. Here the surprising elements of the VOC-period are combined with a contemporary model bicycle bag. Result: an ancient Dutch, striking and stylish bicycle bag!
Re-experience the past....

The “Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie” (often abbreviated till VOC) was an extreme successful Dutch Company which transported goods oversea. Transporting goods is for many Dutchmen still a daily job, with this difference that nowadays it takes mostly place by bike. Enough reason for Basil - the producer of bicycle bags - to translate this into an unique concept: the double bag VOC! This VOC-bag has an archaeological tinge and refers to the period of the VOC, the time the Dutch ruled the seas.
Unique invention...

Striking is the luxurious and sturdy execution of this VOC-bag. The outside is made from a strong and characteristic canvas, that has been printed with gold and has abundantly been provided with golden stitching and applications. The inside has been finished off with velvet. The most striking feature is the cheerful pattern on this bag. As unique the findings from that time, so unique is also this bag! For the present it is an once-only bag, because it concerns a “concept-bag”.
